Backed by more than 17 years in the Environmental, Health, and Safety profession, Ms. Myles has consistently climbed the ladder to her present role as Assistant Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety since joining L’Oréal in 2004. Having commenced her current role in 2021, she provides outstanding support to L’Oréal’s U.S. Division for Research and Innovation by ensuring employees are safe at work in a safe, healthful, and regulatory complaint work environment, collaborating with consumer panelist, incorporating COVID-19 protocols, and communicating among leaders and her staff. Ms. Myles has previously held the positions of L’Oréal’s Director of Environment, Health and Safety from 2018 to 2021, Manager of Quality, Safety, Health and Environment from 2012 to 2014, and Senior Safety Health and Environmental Specialist from 2004 to 2012.
Outside of L’Oréal, Ms. Myles had gained experience as an EHS Engineer at 3M from 2014 to 2017 and as a Senior Manager of Safety at Luxottica from 2017 to 2018. Prior to starting her career, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Occupational Safety and Health from Iowa State University in 2004 and a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University in 2009. Ms.Myles also earned the designation as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
In all positions, on the job or volunteering, Ms. Myles’ shows the EHS experience and subject matter expertise in the field with employers and regulatory agencies. Her expertise includes an array of areas that has broadened her ability to contribute to the company’s bottom line and return on equity. The key area of expertise is the Safety Management Systems are project management, ergonomic assessments, audits, regulatory compliance, training, cost reduction/avoidance, waste reduction and control, environmental sustainability, process safety management, program and process development, contractor safety management, and Lean Six Sigma Tools/Kaizens. Ms. Myles holds a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology-Emphasis in Occupational Safety and Health from Iowa State University. During and after achieving highly recognized higher education degrees, Ms. Myles stays abreast of the remarkably diverse and challenging Environmental, Health, and Safety field by maintaining professional affiliation with the American Society of Safety Professionals, the Occupational Safety Health Administration, the National Safety Council, Women in Safety Excellence, Blacks in Safety Excellence, and related State and Federal regulatory agencies such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Ms. Myles is active in the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and she has held volunteer positions while also participating in national and local ASSP Chapter activities.
Notably, she has been the recipient of the NSC Rising Stars of Safety Award and named the Best Woman in Safety Excellence. To Ms. Myles credit and recognition within the Environmental, Health, and Safety field, the National Safety Council’s (NSC) selected her as a 2020 Rising Star of Safety, a prestigious honor presented by the National Safety Council (NSC) for an honoree who demonstrates superb work results, leadership, technical prowess, and employee engagement in being successful as a Safety and Health professional.
